Ma Qiancheng (马千乘, Mã Thiên Thừa; d. 1613), was the hereditary Tusi chieftain of Shizhu in Sichuan during the Ming Dynasty, direct descendant of the renowned Eastern Han general Ma Yuan (Wave-Calming General), and the husband of legendary female general Qin Liangyu (秦良玉).
A master of mountain warfare, Ma Qiancheng served with distinction during the suppression of the Bozhou rebellion led by Yang Yinglong in 1599, leading three thousand White Staff troops alongside his wife Qin Liangyu to storm Tiger-Roar Pass. In 1613, during a mining tax dispute, corrupt imperial eunuch tax commissioner Qiu Cheng falsely imprisoned Ma Qiancheng in Yunyang, where he died of illness in prison. Following his death, his heroic wife Qin Liangyu assumed command of the Shizhu chieftaincy, leading his White Staff Army into national glory.
