Zhang Nan was a military officer serving under Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han Dynasty and early Three Kingdoms period. He served in the Shu Han state. In 222 AD, during the Battle of Xiaoting (also known as the Battle of Yiling) against the Eastern Wu forces led by Lu Xun, Zhang Nan served as a vanguard general alongside Feng Xi. He was killed in action when the Wu forces launched a massive counter-attack, burning the Shu encampments.
