Guan Suo is a legendary military general and folk hero associated with the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. In traditional lore and popular folklore, he is depicted as the third son of the legendary Shu general Guan Yu. While historical records in the official chronicles such as the Sanguozhi contain very sparse or absent mentions of him, Guan Suo became a prominent character in Chinese folklore, regional operas, and popular literature, especially during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
According to folk tales and popular legend, after the fall of Jing Province and the execution of Guan Yu, Guan Suo survived and underwent numerous romantic and martial adventures across southern China. He is famously associated with the Southern Campaign against Meng Huo, where he fought alongside Zhuge Liang’s forces, and is renowned in folklore for his marriage to Bao Sanniang, a fierce warrior maiden. In Koei’s video game series such as Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi, Guan Suo is portrayed as an energetic and earnest young warrior striving to live up to his father’s illustrious reputation.

- Luo Guanzhong incorporated Guan Suo into Romance of the Three Kingdoms, including the Southern Campaign in Chapter 87. He should therefore be classified as Fictional / Legendary.
