Biography & Historical Record
Luo Xi (罗袭, La Tập) was a valiant military general and frontier commander of the Shu Han and Western Jin dynasties. He was the son and primary heir of the legendary champion general Luo Xian (罗宪, La Hiến — Champion General and hero who repelled Lu Kang’s massive Eastern Wu siege at Yong’an) and grandson of Grand Administrator Luo Meng (罗蒙, La Mông).
Following his father’s celebrated service in holding the vital gate of Baidicheng against overwhelming odds during the collapse of Shu Han, Luo Xi inherited his father’s military prestige and noble rank as Marquis of Xiling (西陵亭侯). Under Emperor Wu of Jin (Sima Yan), Luo Xi was appointed General Who Crosses the River (Lingjiang Jiangjun / 陵江将军) and was entrusted with command over the elite river garrisons of Badong and Guanghan. Known for his tactical boldness, strict discipline, and deep popularity among the garrison troops along the Three Gorges, Luo Xi ensured unbroken peace on the western borders of the empire.
