Shi Wu was a member of the powerful Shi clan in Jiaozhi during the late Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. He was the younger brother of the famous Shi Xie, who ruled Jiaozhi as a semi-independent warlord. Shi Wu served as the Administrator (Taishou) of Nanhai Commandery under his brother’s influence and later under the nominal authority of Sun Quan of Eastern Wu.
Role in Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Shi Wu is not a central character in Luo Guanzhong’s novel and does not appear in the main narrative events of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He is briefly acknowledged in historical records relating to the Shi family’s administration of the Jiaozhou region.
