Shi Yong (石勇), known by his martial moniker the “Stone General”, is one of the 108 Stars of Destiny in the classic Chinese literary masterpiece Water Margin. Hailing from Daming Prefecture during the Northern Song Dynasty, he is portrayed as a rugged martial artist and wanderer who travels the realm before destiny brings him to Mount Liang. Within the stronghold’s hierarchy, he holds the 99th seat, corresponding to the Earth Ugly Star (地丑星).

Before joining the brotherhood, Shi Yong gains notoriety for his fierce temperament and deadly skill with both staff and broadsword. During his travels, he encounters Song Jiang at a village tavern, delivering an urgent family letter that alters the course of their journey. Deeply impressed by his loyalty and courage, Song Jiang warmly welcomes him into the outlaw fraternity.
Upon the grand assembly of the 108 chieftains, he is appointed as an infantry scout and combat officer. When the imperial court grants amnesty to the marshland heroes, he faithfully marches alongside his comrades to suppress regional uprisings and foreign incursions across the empire. His steadfast grit makes him a dependable frontline warrior throughout these perilous expeditions.
