Biography & Historical Record
Zhou Xin was a native of Kuaiji Commandery. He served as the Administrator of Danyang under the warlord Wang Lang. When Sun Ce launched his campaign to conquer Jiangdong, he met stiff resistance from Wang Lang and Zhou Xin. Zhou Xin was tasked with defending the region against the rising power of Sun Ce. Ultimately, his forces were defeated, and he was killed during the ensuing conflict in 196 AD.

In the novel, Zhou Xin appears as a subordinate general to Wang Lang. He attempts to fend off Sun Ce’s invasion of Kuaiji but is depicted as unable to withstand the overwhelming tactical prowess of Sun Ce and his generals, leading to his demise in the service of his lord.

Early Career
- Zhou Xin (周昕, Chu Hân) was a military commander from Kuaiji Commandery and a brother of Zhou Ang (周昂, Chu Ngang). He became associated with the anti-Yuan Shu faction in the late Eastern Han.
191 AD
- Zhou Xin commanded forces connected with Yuan Shao (袁绍, Viên Thiệu) and participated in the struggle against Sun Jian (孙坚, Tôn Kiên). He was defeated during the fighting and returned to the southeast.
192 AD
- After Sun Jian’s victory over the coalition forces, Zhou Xin continued to oppose Yuan Shu’s expansion. He was eventually killed during the fighting in the lower Yangtze region.
